The Opportunity
Nigeria is West Africa's largest economy, with a population exceeding 220 million and one of the world's highest sugar import bills — over 1.5 million tonnes every year. Domestic beef, dairy and refined sugar all fall far short of demand.
CAL's integrated model tackles these deficits directly, combining import-substitution products with real development impact: thousands of jobs, a large outgrower programme, women and youth empowerment, and a meaningful contribution to national food and energy security.

Farm output feeds processing; processing residues feed livestock and energy; livestock and bio-energy return value to the farm. This circularity lowers input costs, smooths seasonality and creates multiple revenue streams from a single asset base.
20,000 hectares of company-operated irrigated farmland plus 30,000 hectares of structured outgrower acreage — sugar cane, grains, fodder and vegetables — alongside a 20,000-head feedlot and 2,500-head dairy.
A 5,000 TCD sugar mill and refinery, ethanol and biodiesel plants, vegetable-oil pressing, a Kwara State meat packing plant (400 cattle and 1,000 ruminants per day), dairy processing, a feed mill and a fresh-pack vegetable line.
A training centre developed in partnership with universities to upskill Nigerian youth, plus an outgrower scheme delivering seed, mechanisation, agronomy support and guaranteed offtake to smallholders.

Livestock & Beef
Modern feedlot beef delivers higher yield per head, predictable supply and far better food-safety outcomes than traditional pastoral herding. Our 20,000-head feedlot runs roughly three cycles a year — about 60,000 head — supplying our own packing plant and the national FMCG channel.
Just as importantly, the feedlot removes pastoralist movement pressure and creates market access for traditional cattle communities — directly addressing a structural driver of farmer–herder conflict.
